Transfer the slices into a colander that is positioned over a bowl. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of salt over the cucumbers and gently mix them to distribute the salt evenly. Allow the cucumbers to sit in the colander for about 15 minutes, allowing excess liquid to drain away.
